We are Looking for Computers!
Getting people with learning difficulties
computers they can use!
Do you have a computer for us?
We need modern computers and computer equipment which you no longer need, because our computer equipment is out-of-date.
If you have computers sitting around doing nothing or if you are upgrading your equipment and no longer have any use for them, please e-mail us at northants@peoplefirst.org.uk
What computers do we need?
We are interested in fairly new computers with multimedia functions, including Macintosh computers. Especially computers which have an in-built connection to wireless networks. Flat-screen monitors would be perfect, because they take up less space.
We are also interested in laptops.
We also need modern printers, webcams, scanners, mice and keyboards.
Do you want to help in other ways?
There are several ways in which you can help us. Volunteering is one of the most important ways. We need volunteers to help with the following jobs:
1. Helping us with the maintenance of our computers and technical support. If you are experienced in this area, or if you are a computer science or systems administration student, we would love to hear from you!
2. Repairing computers.
3. Helping us find donations of computers and/or software.
If you are interested please either e-mail us at northants@peoplefirst.org.uk
or ring us on 01536 515 548
Computer Recycling Scheme
Please note that we no longer recycle computers - if you have old computers you wish to recycle, please offer them on Freegle.

Who are we?
Central England People First is an organisation of people with learning difficulties which supports people with learning difficulties to speak up for themselves.
Computers are one important tool which people with learning difficulties can use to speak up for themselves.
Central England People First is taking an international lead in getting people with learning difficulties communicating around the world using the Internet.
In 1996 we started 2 internet mailing lists. We are using text, voice and video to talk with people with learning difficulties around the world.
